PMVA/Course booking

PMVA is short for Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression.  This generally involves techniques of ‘restraints’ but some terms may be used such as TMVA, MVA, MAPA. EC&R, PBS, MAYBO etc. All techniques that involve restraints for people in care are now regulated.

BILD or BILD ACT are inspectors of organisations that train PMVA so that meet standards set by Restraint Reduction Network (RRN). Organisations that meet standards are listed on www.bildact.org.uk as certified training providers

GSA- The General Services Association trains PMVA tutors and have their  approved manual of techniques. It is a widely used model for PMVA since early 1980s. Other organisations that train tutor have a different model from GSA and may use a different name for PMVA as PMVA is widely associated with GSA eg MAPA- Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (now CPI) is a different name for PMVA

KaOM Ltd- Is an organisation that employees GSA tutors and Approved by Bild.
