Testimonials
Great Training. I learnt a lot about promoting positive behaviour for the clients I look after.
The practical session was amazing!
The theory was also spot on.
It was a very intensive course, lots to learn, relevant to my current work in supporting people with challenging behaviour.
Best training ever!
The best part of the training was the fact that the trainers have experience of working in the mental health sector and shared their experience with us.
The tutors got along positively with each other. Generally everything about the course appeared to be well planned before hand.
Best part of the training: Practical part of the session - we were all given enough time to practice our techniques under the supervision of our tutors. Tutors were very knowledgeable and gave practical scenarios of experiences they have been through and how they managed it. We were a total of 8 - this gave the tutors enough time to observe and support as needed.

Open communication, good use of humour and training was well delivered
We need more music for physical exercise
All participants were actively involved
I was able to refresh past knowledge and learn new skills and techniques
The powerpoint slides were very informative and engaging as they allowed open discussions of real life situatons we might have come across in our jobs. Also giving us new perspectives by listening to other people of situations that could arise and how to handle them.
The practical section part was quite educative and clear
Best part of training- When the trainer offer us lunch
The practical session were very good and beyond my expectations.... I am hoping that KaOM will have their own venue and expand the company
The tutor taught with humour and committed to the course. Educative and full of information.
Learning the different kinds of restraint methods. It wasn't just about theory aspect, but the practical aspect of the training made us feel how to face real life scenarios. Good job. I give it 100/100
Best part has been practical and also sitting to learn from staff that already working in mental health hospital
I think I enjoyed myself.
The guys made the course fun, but on a serious note. I am pretty confident that I have lot of knowledge to take to my support worker role.
The trainers were knowledgeable and able to communicate and carry us along.
The duration can be shortened a bit like 9:30-14:30 if practically possible haha
All sessions were quite exciting and interesting
Practicals make a lot of sense. Improves confidence
I am satisfied

Best part of training: Jordan's sessions and practical sessions

The trainers gave real life examples and videos to aid the learning experience. Also they make use of time spent (time management) during sessions.
...I do not mind taking this training for 5 days because it is interactive and informative.
Human relations between trainers and tutors was excellent.
...
If you could [send] learning materials after booking and payment that would be helpful
The trainers were amazing
Best part of the training: The practicals and how everyone is allowed to practice and ask questions
The practical and theory parts were very interactive, the best part of training was during de-escalation.
I think the tutors really tried, they were awesome
All restraint stages after a year you tend to lose the skills. Refresher is the best way.
...Strict with staff who come late + distractive- no phones meant it!!
Training was very enjoyable and informative. Both theory and practical. Last day was excellently presented and demonstrated relaxed atmosphere for learning. Excellent tutor and pleasant attitude to teach (Richard).
Venue very bad. Not inducive for learning environment.
Venue needs improvement, other than that every part was enjoyable
The best part of the training.: The training was very helpful and meaningful. The best part was the practical.I have leant how to defend myself without harming the service user and and now know that i have a right to report if a client abused me.
Areas needing improvement and/or least enjoyed: The practical part especially when the client pulled my hair or try to bite me i now know how to protect myself.

Dear Reuben and Nancy,
I would like to express my satisfaction on the recently concluded PMVA training. Overall, I found the training to be informative and valuable. It covered essential techniques and strategies for preventing and managing violence and aggression effectively. The training content was comprehensive and covered a wide range of topics related to violence and aggression management. It provided a solid foundation for understanding the underlying causes and identifying warning signs.
Your humble self and Nancy’s expertise and experience in the field were evident, and your delivery style was engaging and professional. You were both patient and effectively communicated complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner. The practical exercises and role-playing activities were particularly beneficial. They allowed us to apply the learned techniques in a simulated environment, which helped build confidence in managing potentially violent situations. The Interactive, inclusive theory and practical activities that encouraged problem-solving and critical thinking enhanced the training experience. I appreciated the emphasis placed on values of a care provider, boundaries (BCEO), observation of a service user, restraints being the last resort, the benefit of debriefing, safety measures and risk assessments during the training. It was helpful to learn about strategies for de-escalation and maintaining personal safety.
The training materials provided were well-organized and comprehensive. The handouts and resources shared will serve as valuable references in the future. However, I am positive some of us will not mind additional materials on the course as I am sure it is quite broad or an online platform where participants can access additional resources would be beneficial for ongoing learning and revision.
In conclusion, considering the fact that I am new to the field, the PMVA training was a valuable experience, and I appreciate the effort put into organizing it. Including more real-life scenarios and case studies to illustrate the practical application of the techniques and strategies discussed was indeed helpful and mind opening.
Thank you for providing this learning opportunity. We hope to meet you and superwoman Nancy again soon for a refresher. It was a pleasure meeting accomplished professionals.
Kind Regards.
