At KaOM we specialise in training health and social care workers who care for and support for a wide range of people, both in the community and inpatient units. The people we train include; Registered Nurses, Support Workers, Healthcare assistants and social workers.
Our Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) training is accredited by the General Services Association (GSA). It is designed to equip your staff with the necessary skills to understand the importance of knowing service users’ needs and meeting those need to promote quality of life. All behaviour happens for a reason and challenging behaviour may be a way to communicate an unmet need.
We train your staff on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to understand the meaning behind the presenting challenging behaviours. We also cover de-escalation, break-away and disengagement skills. We strongly advocate meeting the service users’ needs to avoid the need to use restrictive practices. Your staff will be trained on how to use restrictive practices appropriately, legally and competently in accordance to your service users. Our training meets The NHS standards in conflict resolution and physical intervention.
